A Baltimore County man who spends his days detailing cars for others told Maryland Lottery officials that he has spent his nights imagining the upgrades he will someday make to his own vehicle.
Thanks to a $50,000 win on the Maryland Lottery’s Win Big scratch-off, the lucky man’s “someday” has just arrived.
The 24-year-old car enthusiast plays instant tickets about twice a month, he said. On Friday, he was low on gas and about a block from the Perry Hall BP located at 8809 Belair Road. Awaiting him there was Maryland Lottery luck in the form of the $20 Win Big instant ticket.
“I was paying for the fill up when I saw the ticket in the display,” the Middle River resident said. “The $1 million top prize caught my eye. I said to myself, ‘Go for it.’ ” Scratching off the game in his car, the lucky man was floored by what he saw.
“I was freaking out,” he said. “It’s tough to put into words what I was feeling … just incredible. There may have been some tears.”
The Win Big game debuted in November and has given up only one of its seven $1 million top prizes. The game still has 12 $50,000 prizes, 53 $10,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $20 to $5,000.
