UPDATE: Officials say that a standalone trash can was on fire. There was no damage to the building and all students are safe.

Emergency crews are responding to a reported Friday afternoon fire at a local high school.

At just after 1:30 p.m., the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company said that two of its units were en route to Perry Hall High School, located on Ebenezer Road.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the school was evacuated as a precaution.  All students are said to be safe and accounted for.

An investigation is now in progress to determine the cause of the blaze.
