Authorities are urging citizens to be on the lookout for a local scammer who is allegedly soliciting residents for “donations.”
Local police say a man named “John,” calling from 443-345-8283, has been phoning residents and saying he’s with the “foundation.”
The man asks for donations for the local fire service and, when asked follow-up questions, he abruptly hangs up.
Authorities say no local fire or EMS company is currently soliciting donations by telephone.
