Shooting reported on Belair Road

shooting-news-graphicUPDATE 3: Baltimore County Police have identified the suspect charged in connection with the shooting.

Spenser Naheshema Sumler, 23, of Perry Hall, has been charged with attempted-first degree murder, first-degree assault, and related charges. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

UPDATE 2: Police say the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his lower extremity and is expected to survive.

UPDATE: Eyewitness reports indicate that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute over a bill at IHOP.

The suspect is now in custody.

Police are on the scene of a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Fullerton/Nottingham.

At just after 12:30 p.m., authorities responded to the 7900 block of Belair Road, near the intersection of Belair Road and Rossville Boulevard, for a report of a shooting.

Police say the shooting took place behind the McDonald’s and IHOP at that location.

Early reports indicate that one person is in custody.

There has been no word as to the number of victims or the extent of any injuries.
