Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed in Essex this week.

At about 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, police responded to Back River Neck Road and Middleborough Road for a report of a robbery.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 26-year-old woman who had a small stab wound to her back.

She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The woman declined to give police any information on the incident.
